Honestly...my first car

Hello all, let me tell you all about my first car today that I got in late 80's. It was as old as I was but a lot more beat up! Haha. My parents bought it for me for all of $250 and it was a big old olive green rust bucket. My dads theory is that it should be big so that I was safe if I ever got into an accident. It had big long seats and I could lay across the front seat and my feet probably wouldn't have touched the doors. I am pretty sure it didn't have a radio and if it did it was only am/fm no cassette tape. Yes I am that old that cassette tape was all the rage when I was a teenager.

Funny story I have not run across any photos of my car even though my dad has always been one to take random photos of things as well as people. He took selfies before they were a thing and he used to take photos of all of his cars, houses, garden. Maybe that is where I got my love of documenting and scrapbooking from. Anyway for as many times as he took photos of cars I can't find one of my first car so I found one on line and printed it. Mine was a little darker and a lot less shiny. Trivia: it is the same car as the cop car in Smokey and the Bandit.

Ok ok you have probably had enough random chatter here is my page. I used sketch #151 from Sketch N Scrap.

I have had these papers from Scenic Route - Garden Grove Collection (oh how I miss them) for an extremely long time maybe around 2009 or so? Anyway I have always struggled with this line it just has never really called my name. This line had all the right colors, I also pulled some papers from My Minds Eye, and Simple Stories (one of my favs) I started playing around and decided this was the one then I started adding a little of this and that, again super old embellishments from CTMH also from around 2009 and somehow someway everything just magically came together. This is one of my favorite pages that I have done this year which is amazing since I was very meh about this whole project at the start. Have you ever had that happen?

Here is Sketch #151 I would love to see your take on it.

Playground fun SNS # 150

Last year I told my daughter about this fun park that I had forgotten about as it is in a tucked away area in our town. We made arrangements to meet there and we had a blast, the kids played on the swings, the slide, the water fountain. There were so many giggles and then we explored a little around the outside of the park where they had bag boards, grills, and a big giant boulder. The kids loved it they felt like they were so high up and they just sat an this big rock forever just being silly. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the boulder fun.

I used up some more of my Bella Blvd paper for this page. I cant wait to scrapbook the other photos I took on this day. I already put them into my yearly Pocket Page album but I think I do want to scrapbook some of the ones when they were playing in the water too.

Isn't' this April 1st sketch so adorable? You can find it over on the Sketch N Scrap blog Sketch #150.

Happy Happy Birthday

Have you seen the super cute sketch that was just released at Sketch N Scrap or been over to our Facebook page?

I have been trying to build up my birthday card stash for a while now because as you may remember I am trying to send out cards this year to my loved ones. This one is for my youngest granddaughters 1st birthday which isn't until October! I am way ahead here but this sketch just came together nicely paired with this fun CTMH Stamp of the Month.

I used some cute paper from Bella Blvd that I have had for quite a while...see more stash bashing.

I also have been using my newest find the tiny little jewels that seem to be all over.

The inside is this adorable little hippo...I just couldn't resist!

Here is the April 5th card sketch that I used. To play along head over to the Sketch N Scrap blog.

Lucky Charms - Challenge #4

I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the March Lucky Charms Crop... this is 4th sketch challenge I hope you can play along.

I recently got a new stamp set, I had a blast playing around with it. The whole card just came together so nicely. I decided to make the butterfly look like it could fly of at any time.

I stamped one on the paper and one that I fussy cut. I used crystal effects to glue the center down and bent the wings up. You can also see the shimmer of the ribbon that match the pearls. I also used some Wnk of Stella to make the butterfly shimmer as well.

Here is a close up of the shimmery butterfly.

I always like to finish the insides of my cards too.

Lucky Charms Card - Challenge #2

I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the March Lucky Charms Crop... this is  2nd sketch challenge I hope you can play along.

I have been in the mood to play with some cheery colors and make some fun cards.  This card actually doesn't have any stamping on it. I made if from three pocket page cards.

March Lucky Charms Challenge #1

I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the March Lucky Charms Crop... this is 1st sketch challenge I hope you can play along.

A while back I bought a grab bag full of Bella Blvd papers and embellishments. I loved 99% of it.  These papers were just a little meh to me but when I saw this sketch and these photos I knew they would be perfect proving again and again that you just never know how something is going to suddenly come together of of the darkest corners of your stash.

My little grandson loves the snapchat filters. He is hilarious and will grab his head trying to figure out how he suddenly has a hat on or ears or whatever the case may be. This sketch was perfect for a little hidden journaling.

I had bought these little gens a few months ago because well they are so fun and I thought they would be perfect for birthday shaker cards. When I saw  the colors in this paper I knew it would be a perfect combo and I was right. I love how tiny they are giving me the ability to bling up my layout without a ton of added bulk.

I hope you can play along at our Lucky Charms Crop this month here is the first challenge Sketch #101

Lets go get Married!

What a perfect page to show you on Valentines Day!

My husband and i were planning on getting married this May 2018 but as we were planning our wedding it just kept getting more and more expensive and more and more complicated, not in a bad way just with stuff we needed to do. Really we just really wanted to be married! Since we had family coming in from out of town we decided to just grab our folks, our kids and run off and get married. After we all went out to a nice lunch and there we have it...Mr. & Mrs. I was so happy because my grandmother who is very very healthy but also very very old was able to come. She thought we were silly to be planning a wedding so far out in the future so when we called her and told her we were getting married in a few days she was tickled pink.

I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the Queen of Hearts Crop... this is 1st sketch challenge I hope you can play along.
